Alternate Living
Togetherments Hoodi in Bangalore is envisioned as an evolved model of urban living where affordability meets aspiration through deeply human-centric design thinking. Rooted in empathy for the Indian lifestyle and shaped by extensive research on modern working families and active urban retirees, the project redefines conventional housing by transforming it into a socially vibrant and functionally layered living environment.
At its core lies a distinctive planning approach where over 30 social and activity spaces are seamlessly embedded within the building footprint across two towers, dissolving the boundary between private living and shared experiences.
The design introduces a dual spatial narrative through the “Active Street” and the “Quiet Street” — one fostering energy, movement, sports, and celebrations, while the other offers calm, introspective zones for work, relaxation, and pause. This integration ensures that amenities are not detached or occasional, but become an everyday extension of living, encouraging frequent interaction and organic community building.
The spatial planning carefully negotiates density, accessibility, and circulation, turning what is typically a constraint in affordable housing into an opportunity for layered experiences and efficient movement. The architecture focuses on clarity of flow, visual connectivity, and ease of access, allowing residents to intuitively navigate between social and private realms. Material and spatial expression remain grounded yet contemporary, supporting a lifestyle that is both practical and emotionally enriching. Togetherments ultimately positions itself as more than a housing solution—it becomes a framework for co-living, where design actively nurtures relationships, encourages engagement, and builds a strong sense of belonging within an urban context.
