Conceived as a transformative vision for the future of media infrastructure, Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC) reimagines the traditional workplace as a dynamic, interconnected media campus. The project combines a comprehensive master plan enhancement with the design of an iconic headquarters, creating a vibrant environment that brings together broadcasting, administration, public interaction, and cultural spaces within a unified framework.
At the heart of the proposal is a landmark headquarters building organized around a central landscape plaza that acts as a social and civic anchor for the campus. The design adopts a stepped massing strategy that introduces expansive terraces and green “media oases” across multiple levels, allowing workspaces to extend into semi-outdoor environments. These spaces foster collaboration, interaction, and well-being, reflecting the evolving nature of the media industry.
Inspired by traditional Bedouin structures, a tensile architectural envelope wraps the building, providing environmental shading while creating distinctive semi-open spaces. By night, this skin transforms into a digital canvas capable of broadcasting media content, establishing the headquarters as an urban icon and a contemporary expression of regional identity. The master plan carefully integrates existing infrastructure, heritage assets, and public spaces, creating a pedestrian-friendly media boulevard and a connected landscape network. Through its blend of architecture, landscape, and technology, the Abu Dhabi Media Company project represents a forward-looking vision for a collaborative, sustainable, and culturally rooted media destination.
