Organo Kandawada in Hyderabad is envisioned as a porous social threshold where architecture gently merges with landscape, creating a shared space for community, learning, and everyday interaction. Emerging from the natural mounds of Kandawada, the Entrance Pavilion is conceived as a fluid, cloud-like form that anchors the development while remaining visually light and contextually grounded
At its core lies a central gathering space designed to bring together farmers, residents, facility teams, and visiting students, supporting activities that range from daily briefings to cultural celebrations like Sankranti Pongal, while also acting as an interactive platform for sustainable learning experiences. The pavilion’s defining feature is its intricately engineered canopy—crafted from thin, triangularly perforated MS plates arranged in a precise hexagonal-triangular lattice, supported by slender, flower-like columns at critical nodes—creating a structure that feels both delicate and highly resolved
This layered assembly of bent plates, hollow sections, and machine-cut connections transforms into a dynamic surface that filters sunlight, casting ever-changing patterns of light and shadow while maintaining a comfortable microclimate beneath. The spatial experience remains intentionally open and contemplative, allowing movement to flow uninterrupted across stone pathways and landscaped greens, reinforcing a seamless connection between built form and terrain.
Above the residential quarters, an open-air theatre extends the pavilion’s functionality, offering a flexible platform for performances, gatherings, and community engagement. The material language remains honest and expressive, celebrating the raw precision of steel while allowing the surrounding natural textures to soften the overall composition. Rooted in the philosophy of rurban living, the design balances structure with openness, precision with fluidity, and community with individuality, resulting in an architectural gesture that is not just a pavilion, but a living interface between agriculture, culture, and collective experience.
